DCA supports the view that the extraction of primary aggregates and minerals from Derbyshire should be kept to a minimum by maximising the practices of reducing mineral waste, making greater use of recycled and secondary materials and by ensuring the sustainable use of minerals. We believe more could be done to reduce the demand for newly quarried limestone crushed stone aggregates for the construction industry through the greater use of recycled and reprocessed materials.
