It proposes that post 2020, any such further reduction in the Peal Park's sub-regional obligation should be shared with other neighbouring Authorities rather than accepted by Derbyshire. This aspiration must be tempered with the reality that the ability and capacity of those regions, particularly the North West, to accept a larger share of the burden is limited without the grant of new permissions, possibly including the need for one or more new green field quarry development, assuming one could be identified. This is a compelling reason for accepting that the large Derbyshire Landbank associated with a number of very important, well located, part worked quarries should not be considered as being "excessive" but should be preserved as a long term asset.
