3          Vision and Objectives

3.1       A separate Paper will seek your views on the emerging Vision and Objectives for the Plan. The Vision is about what the Plan area will look like, at the end of the Plan period, in mineral development terms it the Plan has been fully implemented. The Objectives focus on the key issues that need to be addressed in order to deliver the Vision. In this context the Paper will ask your views about matters relating to the provision of minerals, including maintaining an adequate and steady supply of minerals to contribute to the national and local mineral supply; providing minerals for the delivery of sustainable economic development and regeneration of Derbyshire and Derby; making the most sustainable use of mineral resources, including by ensuring the most efficient use of high quality minerals and the minimisation of waste materials; and to ensure that the cumulative impact of mineral working on local communities is taken into account.

3.2       Strategies will be developed in order to achieve the Objectives and deliver the Vision.
