6       Next Steps

6.1     The Councils will continue to work with the PDNPA regarding this issue.  The Local Aggregate Assessment includes a lower apportionment figure for the PDNP, with Derbyshire compensating for this in its apportionment figure for aggregate grade crushed rock.  This was agreed at the East Midlands Aggregates Working Party in December 2013.  We propose also to include a policy in the Minerals Local Plan to this effect.  This strategy will be monitored over the Plan period and Derbyshire may increase its apportionment further to compensate for further reductions in quarrying in the PDNP.
