Towards a Minerals Local Plan for Derbyshire and Derby

Towards a Vision and Objectives

Local Council Plans

The new minerals local plan will be a stand-alone document forming part of the Development Plan for the area. However, it will be one of many plans, both planning and non-planning related, which set out priorities for the future of whole of the Plan area.  Derbyshire County Council and Derby City Council both have produced Council Plans which set out a series of pledges and ambitions for tackling the challenges to be faced in the area. These include pledges to build a strong and resilient economy and to improve the environment of the area. These are issues which interact with the supply of minerals and therefore the new plan will need to take them into account. Similarly the district and borough councils in the area have council plans which need to be taken into account.
